Day 17: A hand and a Stamp

Todays picture is Justus Roses hand. She had a little rose stamp on it that she gave herself and she was very proud of so I asked her if I could take a picture of it. So I had her put her hand down on the bed and took the picture. I did a little bit of post processing in Lightroom and then added my normal border in Photoshop. Good stuff!!

Day 16: Crayons

So crayons....I think these are half Rose Art crayons and half Crayola brand. Anyway, my self and Justus were in the kitchen when she spilled this bag of crayon's on the floor...I was looking at it and thought it might make a cool picture...so I did the same thing on the counter top were there was more light. I took three picture again to mess with HDR and heavily processed it. I really need to get outside and take some nice pictures with lots of gray clouds to get a good HDR picture.

Day 15: Watchmen

This was simple. Tripod. Lights off. Flashlight. Watchman book. Put the flashlight on the book. Take the picture. I like the effect it gave it. I sort of wish I had something smaller then my huge mag light to use for the light. I think it lit it up just a little to much.

Day 14: Noah's Drag Racer...

So I was going to make todays picture something from when I went out with a bunch of friends later on for dinner and drinks. But when I woke up this morning I saw what Noah had built. No instructions, just taking pieces and he built this. It's awesome. It's about 14 inches long and looks a lot like a drag racer. He was of course very proud of it. I took about 5 pictures of it and this one is by far the best. He's such a creative little guy!!

Day 13: Justus's Zinnia's

So awhile back I bought this little kit from Target. It has 3 pots made from recycled milk jugs and came with 3 packs of organic seeds. these are Justus's and they are doing much better then the other two. Ethan got sunflowers and they haven't grown at all. Noah got some Sweet Basil, and they are growing, but these things just shot up. They are called Pastel Dreams.

Day 12: My two ladies...

First off we have my little girl. Don't be surprised if she pops up here more and more often. She's just to darn cute and she is already very photogenic. We were outside playing baseball when she decided she wanted to bat. It was to cute so I made her stand there while I took a picture before I pitched her the ball.

So after a grueling baseball game, I came inside to see what my other favorite lady was doing. Here she is just having finished going over her lines for Anne of Greene Gable. I took a loooooot of pictures but I like this one the best.

Anyway, enjoy!

Day 11: Necklaces

So Day 11. I was walking around my house wondering what in the world I was going to make my picture of the day. I just started taking snapshots of things and I ran across my wife's jewelry box. It looked like it would be fun to take some pictures of. So I got the tripod out and started shooting. Overall this was the best one. I really enjoyed it.

Day 10: Boo...

I know I've already posted a picture of her but today she decided she wanted to do a "photo shoot" so I took about 100 pictures or so of her in our old dining room. She had a good time. I loved this picture. There are quite a few more that I liked but I chose this one because it just sort of looks like a Justus Rose shot...

Day 9: My baby...

Okay.....so I decided that I needed two pictures up for the day. I decided to play with HDR a little bit. Granted I couldn't get great dynamic lighting because it was indoors, it was still fun. Because the lighting inside my house isn't exactly great, I pulled the shop light up from downstairs. It's 1500W. I used it and threw a white sheet over it to dampen the light just a bit. It gave the guitar a very nice glow. After that I used my camera's auto bracketing feature. The picture of the neck is done with a normal exposure, +2 and -2 on lighting. The picture of the body is + and - 1.5 and a normal. I took all three pictures and plugged them in RAW format into a program called Dynamic-Photo HDR. Processed them there first. Then I took them to photoshop for the basic resizing and rotating. Overall I like them. No my guitar is not that grungy, but I loved the way it made it look.

So here is day 9 and day 9 part 2. My baby. My Guitar.

Day 8: Happy Birthday to Noah!!

Okay so there is nothing awesome about this picture, in fact I think it's even a little bit blurry...but it's Noah's birthday and he wanted to show off his new lego kit. It's huge. It was 799 pieces and man it took us all day long. Anyway, that's Noah on the left of the box smiling. Of course his older brother couldn't help but show up in a picture. So he popped his head over the box just as I was taking the shot. I thought it was rather funny.

So Happy 5th birthday to Noah! They grow up so fast!!

Day 7: Shooting...

Went out today with Josh for some shooting. Here he is shooting my little Ruger 22 Carbine. I've had it since I was 12 years old and it's still a lot of fun to shoot. We probably went through a combined 4-450 rounds of ammo today. Good times.

Day 6: A glass of wine....

So here is Day 6. It is a glass of nice merlot. (the Little Penguin to be more exact from Australia I believe...). I was talking to Eddie on AIM and was trying to figure out what I was going to do for my picture today and he came up with this idea....so I went with it. My only problem is the wine is much darker then that....I'm not sure why it's coming up so red. I did another dark shot for this one. I had two night lights behind it from different sides and I did a 1 second exposure. Put it into photoshop, made it Black and White and then used the history brush to paint in the colors again.

Day 5: Doritos

What can I say. I walked in the door, the kids were gone, I looked down on my kitchen floor and there they were. A lonely plate of Doritos someone probably forgot to finish before they left with their Pappy to go have fun in the mall.

Day 4: Gomez...

Todays picture is a picture of a great friend, Aaron Gomez. He's sitting in his kitchen ordering some pizza!

Day 3: Ol' Blue Eyes...

Instead of Old Blue Eyes here we have Young Blue Eyes. Her eyes aren't really quite that blue but some how the effect made them a lot bluer then they really are. Anyway, I love this picture and she looks very adorable. And of course she has her pacifier....she is never without her pacifier.....

Day 2: Pringles in Color

Here's a simple can of Pringles chips on my desk. 50mm lense with 1.4fstop to get that blurry background effect. I also took it into photoshop and made the whole thing black and white and then put the color back into the can.

Day 1: Self Portrait...

Tripod + Delayed shot = Self portrait.

:)

Howdy Everyone!

Well thanks for stopping by. In the next few days I will be starting this up. My plan is to post a single picture a day. Could be a picture of my kids. Could be a picture of a tree. Maybe a picture of a boat...but I doubt that as I don't really live near anyplace that has a lot of boats.

Anyway, stop on by and enjoy the view any time you want to!
